To bring you pet to Northern Cyprus by plan you will need to have your pet micro chipped and they will need to be up to date on their vaccinations. A visit to the vet is required 48 hours before take off to ensure that your pet is fit to fly. You must also contact Northern Cyprus to gain a permit to allow your pet into the country. Once you and your pet arrive in Northern Cyprus your pet will immediately be taken into quarantine for about 3-4 weeks before he is released into the country. You will be required to pay a small holding fee, provide food and visit daily to make sure he is being fed properly and to provide him with exercise. You should also be aware that if you take your pet anywhere outside of Northern Cyprus your animal will be required to be quarantined again upon his return. There are several kennels that can offer boarding for your pet while you are out of the country instead of taking them with you and then bringing them back to be quarantined. These kennels are usually reasonably priced and they offer good care to your pet while you are not around. You may also be able to hire someone to look after your pet in your home if you are going to be gone for a short time. Make sure the person you hire has knowledge of your animal and his personality.

People in Northern Cyprus have been known to place poisoned pieces of meat in the streets and around their homes to get rid of stray animals. The poison that is used is a very fast acting poison and if your furry friend eats a piece of this poisoned meat he will mostly die from it. The best way to avoid your dog picking up and eating any of this poisoned meat while you are out for a walk is to muzzle your dog. This will prevent him from being able to pick up anything from the ground and keep him from eating any poisoned meat. Some may thing a muzzle is cruel but I would rather muzzle my dog any day than what him die because he ate poisoned meat.
Snakes are yet another danger for your pets, again especially dogs. While a snake will not just attack out of no where dogs are curious creatures who like to sniff anything and everything. If your dog comes into contact with a snake and begins to stiff it more than likely he will be bitten. Not all snakes are poisonous but there are many that are. If your pet is bitten you need to rush him quickly to a vet to be assessed on whether the snake has place venom into your pet. If there is venom in your dogs system the vet will very likely have the cure for it.
